Every week I leave a new story out for you. That stays free, always, exactly as it has been: the story, the narration, all of it. Nothing in this letter changes that.
But some nights need the long version. The one that does not hurry.
So I made The Settle: the slow Sleepcasts.
Each one runs twenty to thirty minutes, and the story is told twice. The first telling is warm, the one you know. Then a soft chime, and it begins again, slower, the words further apart, the sea a little louder than I am. They are built to be slept through, not listened to. Nobody has ever been asked how one ends.
Ten of them are in the feed right now. Not coming soon. There tonight, ready the moment you join.
This is what becoming a Companion means. Every Settle, and every story so far, in one quiet feed in your own podcast app. No ads, ever. New stories reach you a few nights early. A few small extras besides: longer breathing, a monthly note from me. It is $6.99 a month, or $59.99 for the year, and you can cancel any night.
And because you were here first, there is a Founding Companion plan, $100 a year. It adds nothing to your feed. It adds YOU to the village. Two promises, so you can see it means something: I get a new toy and a full bag of treats, bought in your name, and I will show them off in my notes so everyone knows who to thank. And a character in the village will carry your name. A neighbour, a shopkeeper, a seagull with opinions. When their story is told, you will know exactly who it is.
Whatever you decide, the weekly story keeps arriving, free, at the same quiet hour. Keep your bedtime where it is. I will be there.
Press play, and let the day settle.

It's so comforting the thought that nobody is expected to hear the ending. What a lovely way to measure a bedtime story's success. Wishing you every success with this next chapter. X
The bit about a character carrying your name in the village, a neighbour or a seagull with opinions, is such a charming way to bring people in. Prince Freddie getting a new toy out of the deal is a nice bonus too
